Hey, hey, beautiful human. Can I steal five minutes of your time? I have something (0:04) super important to share with you, but I promise I'll be really quick. (0:08) You're listening to my weekly bonus episode of Embrace Your Real with me, Julie Labrador.(0:12) I'm about to give you a quick tip for building your confidence, honoring your body, and (0:17) unconditionally loving your authentic self. Stay tuned if you're ready to embrace your real. (0:22) Let's get in.Let's go. Welcome back to another bonus episode on the Embrace Your Real podcast. (0:35) It is the first week of February as I'm recording this, and it is time for us to really take a look (0:40) at those New Year's resolutions.Do you know that 80, 80% of people fail to stick with their (0:45) New Year's resolutions within the first month? And this is why we need to talk about this. (0:49) If you are feeling like you already fell off track with your goals for 2025, first of all, (0:54) take a deep breath. Second of all, know that you are not alone. And I want us to reframe this, (1:00) because falling off track does not mean that you are a failure. And I know you're thinking, (1:03) I blew it. Okay, I'll try again next year.I need to stop you right there. Your goals do not have (1:08) an expiration date. They should not have an expiration date. And just because you might (1:12) have lost your momentum, that does not mean that you have to quit. And so that's why in today's (1:17) bonus episode, I just want to share five powerful mindset shifts that I believe will help you shake (1:23) off that guilt, get you back on track and move forward with confidence. But first, let me share (1:27) this sweet review. It came from MP Bailey one, she gave a five star view and said, great podcast. (1:34) I stumbled upon this podcast after hearing Julie talk about reverse dining with Shailene Johnson. (1:40) I have really been enjoying it so much.I have been working on repairing my relationship with (1:44) food. I have been eating in a severe caloric deficit for a long time, followed by binging (1:48) and gaining the weight back. I am starting to finally eat more and accept the way that I am.(1:53) I've also subscribed to the movement with Julia app and I love it. I feel so strong, (1:56) empowered, and it's a great to have a template to follow. Thanks for keeping all of the valuable (2:02) advice coming.Appreciate you. I love this so much. Thank you so much for first of all, (2:07) tuning in to that episode that I did with Shailene Johnson. That was such an honor. (2:12) She's incredible. And that whole team is amazing. But reverse dining single handedly (2:16) transformed my life. I believe if you do not know what I'm talking about, I have a specific episode, (2:22) episode 46. I believe we need to update that episode. That was kind of an OG episode. So (2:28) stay tuned in the coming weeks and months for an updated kind of what's reverse dining all about. (2:34) But episode 46, we'll kind of walk you through that. But I'm also so grateful that you are (2:38) enjoying the movement with Julie app. Thank you so much for subscribing. I'm so grateful that you (2:42) are a part of that community. If you guys want to learn more about my movement with Julie app, (2:46) it's my Dumbbell Only Workout community. You can go to sale. That's S-A-L-E.movementwithjulie.com. (2:52) All right. So let's dive into those five powerful mindset shifts that will help you (2:56) shake off the guilt, get back on track and move forward with confidence. Number one, (3:00) please remember that falling off track is normal. Stop making it mean something about you.(3:04) Listen, no one sticks to their resolutions perfectly. Life happens. And what matters is (3:09) how you respond.Instead of thinking, I failed. I need you to remind yourself I had a setback (3:14) and that's okay. What's my next step? The most successful people don't avoid setbacks. They (3:18) just don't let setbacks stop them. They don't have this all or nothing mindset. They have this, (3:23) well, that didn't go as planned today.I'll do better tomorrow. That type of mindset is going (3:28) to set you up for when to win long term. And just remember that you're never going to stick (3:33) to resolutions perfectly. And so you have to learn about doing it consistently, even if it's (3:39) imperfect, which leads me to number two, focus on progress, not perfection. If you've convinced (3:44) yourself that, you know, you have to be in this all or nothing mindset. It's time to let that (3:50) go.Like that is of the past. That is so 2024. Okay. You do not need to have this perfect streak (3:56) to be successful. Smart, consistent actions add up way more than extreme short-lived efforts. (4:02) Let me say that again.Small, consistent actions add up way more than extreme short-lived efforts. (4:08) If you have been off track for a few weeks or even a month or a couple of months, what's one thing (4:13) that you can do today to move you back in the right direction? When you really embrace that (4:18) imperfection, you really never have to start over because you continuously push forward no matter (4:24) how imperfect that might look. And number three, when you embrace perfection, you never have to (4:30) start over because you are continuously pushing forward no matter how imperfect that might look.(4:35) Number three, reevaluate what is realistic for you in this season of life. Please. It's so, (4:42) so important.Maybe you set a goal at the beginning of the year that was just too rigid, (4:46) and that's why you've really struggled to stick with it. So instead of saying, oh, I can't do it, (4:50) ask yourself, how can I adjust this resolution to be more realistic in this season of my life (4:56) right now? And instead of, you know, maybe saying I'm going to work out five times a week, (4:59) if that doesn't work, try to aim for three times a week. Anything extra is a bonus.Give yourself (5:05) that flexibility so your goals fit into life, into your life, into this season of life, (5:10) not the other way around. Number four, make it stupidly simple, like stupidly simple. If you've (5:16) been out of a habit for a few weeks, don't expect yourself to go from zero to 100 overnight.I want (5:21) you to start small. And instead of going all in with this intense workout routine or this (5:26) complicated meal plan, I want you to focus on one small win. Like this week, I'm going to drink more (5:31) water. This week, I'm going to aim to get, you know, 5,000 to 7,000 steps. Or this week, I'm (5:37) going to add just a 10-minute walk after dinner. Those small wins build momentum, and momentum (5:42) fuels motivation.Inside the mood with Julia, this is exactly why I give you that 30-minute and that (5:48) 60-minute option, because I totally understand time constraints, especially if there's anything (5:53) that I've learned being a mom. It's that time is so limited. Like I've had countless conversations (5:59) with Josh being postpartum, and we just would stare at each other and be like, what did we do (6:04) with all of the time that we had prior to having Blake? Like we had so much time, so much time.(6:10) It's crazy, but that's exactly why I have that included inside my app, because those are time (6:16) effective workouts. And even if you don't have 30 minutes, I get it. Even 30 minutes is a lot, (6:20) especially if you have a newborn or you're balancing, you know, multiple kids, a job, (6:24) all of these things.Aim to get 10 to 15 minutes or 15 to 20 minutes of a workout three times a (6:30) week. That is going to be amazing. The point is I want you to start simple and build from there.(6:35) Simple habits are better than no habits. Let me say that again. Simple habits are better than (6:40) no habits.Number five, your success is inevitable only if you keep going. Let me repeat that again. (6:47) Your success is inevitable, but only if you keep going. The only way that you fail is if you quit. (6:54) Don't quit. It's that simple.Just don't quit. The timeline doesn't matter. What matters is (6:59) that you keep showing up for yourself, whether you pick up right where you left off, you scale (7:04) things back, you adjust your approach, you are not behind, you are exactly where you need to be, (7:08) and every step forward counts.Let me quickly recap what I talked about in today's episode. (7:14) Number one, falling off track is normal. Stop making it mean something about you.Number two, (7:20) focus on progress and not perfection. Number three, reevaluate what's realistic for you. (7:27) Number four, make it stupidly simple. And number five, your success is inevitable, but only if you (7:34) keep going. If you take one thing from today's episode, let it be this. You don't need to wait (7:40) for another Monday. You don't need to wait for another month or another year or another quarter (7:44) or whatever it is to get back on track. You can start today. Right now, no guilt, no shame, (7:51) just action and immense amounts of grace. If you want an easy way to stay consistent with movement (7:58) this year, I just want to encourage you to check out my Movement with Julie app. This is where, (8:02) again, I bring you five brand new workouts every single week. Each workout can be tailored to (8:07) your needs. So whether it's 30 minutes, it's 60 minutes, it's less than 30 minutes, whatever it (8:11) is, all you need is a few pair of dumbbells, a small space. If you have a bench, that's amazing. (8:17) I always give no bench alternates. And your body weight, that's literally all that you need. I do (8:21) also have some moves that have resistance bands. But again, if you don't have resistance bands, (8:26) I always give no band or body weight alternates. So totally, again, all you genuinely need is just (8:33) a few pair of dumbbells and a small space. Start there. And then if you want, or if you have the (8:37) means to build off of there to get a little bit more, you know, the bench and the resistance bands, (8:42) that's amazing. But there are so many women inside the community that just have the bare minimum, (8:46) and they're seeing amazing results. You can literally do all of the workouts right inside (8:50) your house. So whether that is an unfinished basement, whether that is a bedroom, it's a (8:56) living room, it's a garage, it's your porch, whatever it is, you can totally do these workouts.(9:01) And if you pair that, my dumbbell only workouts with my Macro County Made Simple Online Academy, (9:07) I guarantee you will start seeing amazing results. Even if you start working out at the bare minimum (9:13) three days a week, like you will see amazing results. If you focus on nourishing your body (9:18) and you focus on moving your body consistently.I have linked both of those things, both my movement (9:23) with Julia community, as well as my Macro County Made Simple Online Academy in the show notes that (9:27) you can easily go access both of those things now. But that is all that I have for today's (9:31) episode. I hope that if there's one thing again, that you bring from today's episode, it's that (9:36) you should just have immense amount of grace for yourself. And if you fell off track in the month (9:41) of January, which if I can be real, January felt like an entire year. January felt so long. Oh my (9:49) goodness. But if you fell off track, you know, things just didn't go according to the way that (9:53) you hoped or set out to, you know, at the beginning of 2025, I just want to be the first (9:59) to tell you, it is okay. You can start as soon as right now. Start with realistic goals.Start (10:06) with just getting back on track. Start with the simple habits that you can incorporate into your (10:11) life. But that is all that I have for today's bonus episode.I love you so dang much. I mean it. (10:16) I'll talk to you in the next one.(10:27) All right, sister, that's all I got for you today. But I have two things that I need you to do. (10:34) First thing, if you are not already following me on the gram, be sure to do so.Julie A. (10:38) Ledbetter. Yes, it's with an A in the middle for that daily post-workout real talk, healthy tips (10:44) and tricks and honest accountability to keep your mind and heart in check. The second thing, (10:49) be sure to subscribe to Apple podcast to never miss an episode.Thank you so much for joining (10:56) me. It means the absolute world. Remember that beauty goes so much deeper than the surface. (11:12) So go out there and embrace your room because you're worth it.
